In San Diego County, surveys have shown that the majority of County residents have heard of hospice care; however, more than half of the respondents were not able to name any hospice care services.

San Diego Hospice offers a Speakers Bureau with the focus of educating the public about hospice care programs and services offered in our community. Presenters are available to discuss a variety of topics surrounding end-of-life care including:

• Promoting Quality of Life at Every Stage of Life ©
• Advance Directives: Making Your Health Care Wishes Known
• and other topics related to hospice care and palliative care

As part of San Diego Hospice’s mission, the role of advocacy is vital to ensure that everyone who can benefit from hospice care services will know about their health care options, and have the ability to ask for help sooner rather than later.
